Three ongoing initiatives

  1. Brigham Health Radiology Microsoft Teams resource site
First started in the spring 2020, the Teams Wellness Teams site (BWH Rad Wellness) continues to be updated with resources, and provides multiple channels for faculty and trainees to connect. Channels currently include the following:
    1. Links to resources, provides many links for overall health and wellness
    2. Work harmony and productivity, where links to resilience tools and team-building are posted
    3. Kids (K-12) books and activities, offers a platform for school/childcare discussion
    4. Knee Bouncers, allows expectant parents and those with infants/preschoolers to connect and offer suggestions
    5. Virtual Book Club
    6. Art Moments, current occurring on the first Friday evening of the month, and led by David Odo, Director of Academic and Public Programs at Harvard Art Museum
    7. Box office bests (movie club)
    8. Running and cycling club.
  2. Radiology Sleep Matters Initiative
Funded through BWell, the Department of Sleep Medicine at BWH have conducted interviews with 3 different groups from our department (senior faculty, junior faculty and trainees) to better understand the nature of our schedules as well as the primary barriers to sleep and circadian health. Deliverable: The Sleep Matters initiative will deliver recommendations for improving sleep and circadian health, in addition to suggestions on interval breaks (how many and for how long) from our time spent in a light-deprived room during a regular workday. The goal is to help our faculty and trainees optimize circadian health, sleep and productivity. This will be delivered in a grand rounds format on 11/17/2020, and through several follow-up email reminders which will feature key recommendations.
  3. Fitness Together
After distribution of the fitness packages, also funded through BWell, we will now focus on several fitness initiatives. These will include reading room stretching exercises and at-home stretching for various indications (lower back pain, neck pain, etc.). We are also about to embark on various fitness challenges across the department, which will focus primarily on building camaraderie but also on physical and mental well-being.
