Radiology Sections - Pediatric Radiology

“Children are not small adults” is a motto you will likely hear on your pediatrics rotation if you haven’t already, and the same idea applies to the imaging of pediatric patients, which is one of the reasons this subspecialty exists. Pediatric radiologists employ all of the modalities described above to diagnose disease, however, special efforts are made to minimize radiation. For this reason, MRI and ultrasound may be used to diagnose processes commonly imaged with CT in adults. While not a part of this rotation, Brigham radiology residents get their pediatric radiology training at Boston Children’s.
