Location - Children’s Hospital, Main Building, Second Floor (over bridge from BWH), Neuro Reading Room
Hours (Variable)
Days: 7:15am to 5:00pm
Evenings: 2:00pm to 10:00pm (usually assigned about once per week)
Post-Evening: Start at 9:00am
Post-Call: Start at 12:00pm
Responsibilities Overview
- Read exams from CT or MR worklists based on which side of the reading room you are assigned.
- If assigned as OD, provide preliminary interpretations and review outside hospital exams with primary teams who visit the reading room.
- For the evening shift after 5pm, read all exams with the on-call attending who is generally reading remotely.
- Sign out upcoming/ongoing cases at 10pm to the BWH overnight fellow. It’s generally good form to read any ongoing exam yourself if it’s almost complete.
